Using Essential Oils

General Information

Size Conversions:
3 teaspoons (tsp) = 1 tablespoon (tbsp)
2 tablespoons (tbsp) = 1 ounce (oz)
6 teaspoons (tsp) = 1 ounce (oz)
10 milliliter (ml) = 1/3 oz.
15 milliliter (ml) = 1/2 oz.
30 milliliter (ml) = 1 oz.
10 milliliter (ml) = approximately 300 drops

Generally, two drops of Essential Oil (use only Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils) should be used per tsp of Carrier Oil (but follow individual recipes if available) and it takes about 20-30ml of carrier oil for a full body massage.

Any natural carrier oil except mineral oil is fine to use when preparing a massage blend. There are lots to choose from and each has its own properties. For most applications I prefer to use a base of sweet almond oil. Jojoba and grapeseed oil may be blended to the massage oil base. For 30ml Massage oil base add 1 tsp. jojoba, 2 tsp. grapeseed and 1 tbsp of sweet almond oil.
